AB-900 Exam General Information
Use this module to orient yourself before you study. AB-900 is a Microsoft 365 administration credential, not the Azure AI Fundamentals exam, which uses the code AI-900.
Verified AB-900 Scope
This module follows the English AB-900 skills measured effective July 22, 2026. Microsoft lists the credential as beginner level and identifies it with the title Microsoft 365 Certified: Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals. Recheck the official pages before paying or scheduling, because Microsoft can change availability, language, delivery, or the blueprint.

Current Delivery Facts
- Microsoft lists AB-900 as a 45-minute proctored assessment. Interactive components may be included.
- The current certification page lists English and provides scheduling through Pearson VUE. It also provides a Certiport route for students and educators.
- The official study guide says a score of 700 or greater is required to pass. That is a scaled score, not a promise that 70 percent of questions is sufficient.
- Microsoft provides a practice assessment and exam sandbox from the credential page. Use them to learn the assessment interface, not as a replacement for the published objectives.
Read
Start with the official AB-900 study guide. Read the three weighted domains first, then underline the action words: identify, understand, assign, monitor, manage, create, and configure. The detailed bullets illustrate assessment scope and Microsoft notes that related topics can also appear.
Scope
Build a one-page AB-900 map with three columns: Microsoft 365 foundations, governance and data protection, and Copilot and agent administration. Place every product name in one primary column, then note the connection. For example, Microsoft Entra ID belongs to identity and access, while its controls also affect what Copilot can access.
Drill
- For each domain, write three short workplace scenarios that include a required outcome and one constraint.
- Answer each scenario by naming the capability category first, then the Microsoft service or administrative action.
- For every answer, explain why a nearby distractor does not satisfy the stated scope, permission, governance, or operational requirement.
Prove
Before booking AB-900, prove that you can explain all three domains without notes, complete a timed mixed practice set, and use the official sandbox comfortably. On the day you schedule, reconfirm the current language, appointment, price, identity rules, and any accommodation requirements on the official registration flow.
